Samsung Color Laser Printers Belong To The Best In Their Classes
Last month, the printer at my workplace completely broke and we needed to find a replacement. I was in charge of getting the replacement and we decided to go with a Samsung laser printer, called the CLX-6240 FX. This printer does it all. It was quite expensive; it cost almost twenty five hundred dollars. However, working at a law firm, you need a powerful printer and a fast one at that when you have to print out cases upon cases upon cases. We literally have one employee who just stands and makes copies all day, we are that bogged down in paperwork!
There are so many features with this printer, I am not sure if I can fit them all. First, it features “DADF” which stands for Duplex printing, and Automatic Document Feeder. The advantage of an automatic document feeder is that you can place multiple sheets in there at once and it will make copies of them all for you so you don’t have to do copies one by one.
We usually can fit at least fifty or sixty pages in there at a time and not have a problem. The printer is so fast that this process only takes a few minutes. Duplex printing allows us to print on both sides. However, the big advantage is that you don’t need to reload the paper to print on both sides, it automatically does this for you and is so efficient!
Another key feature is that this laser printer has complete wireless capabilities. Our office is a huge penthouse, but we also have the floor below us as well. The wireless networking feature allows anyone in our penthouse office, as well as the floor below us to print to this printer without being physically wired to it.
The laser printer also comes with an eighty gigabyte hard drive and can save documents before you print them. For example, you want to print something but can’t pick it up for fifteen minutes. You can save it to the hard drive, and then retrieve it in fifteen minutes by resuming the print job.
The printer also has a couple USB slots so you can take your flash drive and insert it into the printer to print jobs. There is a second tray option if you would like, meaning it can print out two jobs at the same time! This actually triples your printing capacities. All Samsung laser printers are Energy STAR compliant, so it is lowering our electric usage as well. It is an all in one with the capabilities of printing, copying, scanning, and sending / receiving faxes.
The machine is actually quite small for such a great printer, standing only about two feet high and is also only about two feet wide. The toner it uses has five wells, black plus the four color cartridges of cyan, yellow, magenta, and black. The ink is expensive at about ninety bucks a cartridge, but the cartridges last for over two thousand prints. This is the best laser printer I have ever used and I am glad we bought a Samsung.
